I bought a 2012 Audi Q5 from them that clearly needed new brake rotors. They agreed to "fix the brakes". Come to find out, they replaced the rotors and NOT the brake pads, which is big no no. Ive spoken with 15 mechanics, including two other Subaru dealerships, who stated emphatically that no reputable dealer would replace rotors and not the pads. Now, with only 600 miles on the new rotors/old pads, the old pads have damaged the new rotors, and this dealership wants me to pay them $600 to replace the pads and fix the damaged rotors - which were only damaged because they didnt replace the pads. Period.

I purchased a Crosstrek - love the car. However, the purchase experience at this dealership was very very bad. It was a snowy, Tuesday - the showroom was empty - but it took over 4 hours for them to finalize the purchase. During those 4 hours, there was little to no communication. The salesman kept saying "well be with you soon." I wanted to see the numbers - no one would talk to me. There was no negotiating. I was finally ushered into the finance office where the numbers were printed and I was expected just to sign. I had to try to negotiate through the finance guy - it was ridiculous. It still makes my angry to think about how I was treated. I would never recommend this dealership.

I went in for an equity consultation on my 2012 Impreza, and didnt have any expectations aside from a car wash. I walked away with a 2014 Crosstrek. The process, while a tad long (to be expected), was seamless and I never felt pressured . Eddie was great to work with, and even transferred my EZ pass, plates and explained Bluetooth. Came into the dealership looking at a used car. Met with Eddie who was rather quiet. Went out and took a look at the car, it was in ok condition and then agreed to do a test drive. Car was mechanically fine and we agreed toinside and talk pricing. Well after talking pricing, he also wanted to get the business manager involved. So, weinside his little office and sit down and continue to talk pricing, all while the business manager, Brian, starts working on paperwork. Mind you, nothing had been agreed upon verbally at that point. He then starts laying out pieces of paper in front saying "you need to sign here" to which I contested that nothing had been agreed upon. He insisted we had. I told them I would need a day or two to talk over finances and then I would contact them. Brian then made some very rude and very unprofessional comments, those of which I shall not repeat here.

Terrible experience at this place and I didnt even enter the dealership. My contact with this dealership was by phone and email. To see more of my review, pleaseto Yelp. I went through the American Express/True Car Buying Program. They were one of the dealership who gave me a price as part of the Truecar certificate program. A certificate is generated for the car you want with an offered price. I asked about two cars in transit via email. I was told I would be given a price for the cars. This was not correct since I had the price for the cars on the certificate. I emailed the gal and told her to have someone who understood the program to contact me. The manager called me and we had an argument over the phone about the program. The manager said she never heard of these "certificates". I told her she should have certificate generated with my name on it with the car that I want. She told me she did have the certificate but she had never seen one before. Are you kidding me? We argued again because I told her I should not have to explain the program to her since they are an American Express Truecar dealership. I hung up on her because we were just getting nowhere in communication. She called me again 5 minutes later!! I cant believe she had the nerve to call me after we argued about a program she should understand which she clearly did not and I hung up on her. She proceeded to argue with me again about the program! I cant believe this. I tell her not to ever call me again and hung up on her. Thankfully she did not call me again. I received a bunch of junk emails from them afterwards. Be careful of the Truecar/American Express program. These dealerships use it as a way to fish for customers and then do a bait and switch. Maker sure your dealer understands the Truecar/American Express program BEFORE youthe dealership.

I went to look at a used vehicle on a Tuesday, and met salesman Mike P. I was happy with MikeGÇÖs demeanor. I took the vehicle for a test drive and had some concerns about the brakes. Mike said he would have the service techs look at it. Mike called me the next day and said the problem was fixed. I went back on Thursday and met Mario (MikeGÇÖs day off). I was also very happy with MarioGÇÖs professionalism. Mario pointed out the fixed problem, so I test drove the vehicle again. I purchased the vehicle right after. Old school rip off artist dealership. Before 2nd payment was due, used 2008 Toyota required a new transmission. Also, was lied to during sales process. I wanted to use my pre-approved bank financing, they assured me there was no way the bank would loan for a car this age and mileage. Totally not true. Have had car for 3 months now. Has a new trans, need all new brakes. This is not the old friendly Subaru of Countryside that was on LaGrange road for years. New ownership. Total Rip Off. With so many reputable dealers in the area, so many Subaru dealers, save yourself a lot of pain.somewhere else.

Jashandeep gave us a tour of the showroom questioning and giving the positive points on the SUVs we were interested in. We were looking toward another Outback. We ended up with Forester which felt like it had more room inside. Jay encourage us to jump back and forth between the Outback and Forester with the touch and feel test. The service center was able to install trailer hitch while we were there waiting. We were walked through the paper work and taken over to accounting. Part of my price rating (ok) reflects the last minute surprise of the added extended service contract, confusion on the final price and the push for a loan. The shop wanted to charge us for the trailer hitch and installation that we assumed was part of the final price. We came in to see the new cars and not planning to buy that day but things worked out different.

I went to the Autobarn Subaru Countryside looking for my first car. I had found a used car online that was a great deal and drove three and a half hours from my hometown to look at it. I called ahead to verify that the car was there for the price listed. After test driving the car, I was ready to buy it at the price listed online. I did not want the Autobarn certified package which is $2000 extra because I had a limited budget, and free car washes, etc 3.5 hours away would not be beneficial. The salesman went tonegotiate the price with the manager. He returned and said, we can sell the car to you for X dollars. The price he was willing to sell at was $900 over the online price! He had gone to negotiate and came back with a more expensive price than listed. I drove 3.5 hours to see a car within my budget that was a great value for the money. The new price was outside my budget, which was very limited as a graduate student. They made our whole trip a waste of time. The experience, however, became even more shady. I was told someone had listed the car incorrectly online, and the manager hadnt realized it. They showed us the sales bill for the car showing us they couldnt sell the car at the online price though the price on the sales bill was actually less than the price they wanted us to pay. The sales person stated that the manager was actually changing the online price of the car as we spoke. They refused to sell us the car unless we paid this new, higher price. I did not buy anything from them, and wouldnt have even if I could have afforded the new price. They lied about the price being changed online. It was not changed as we left the dealership or later that day. In fact, there is car of the same make, model, and year at the dealership with a premium package and just a few more miles that is listed at only $200 above the online price of the car I wanted to buy, below the price they wanted me to pay. They did not offer for me to look at this car even though it was close to my budget. I suspect this is because they have no intention of actually selling that car for the price listed either. I appreciate honesty and openness which is exactly the opposite of what I experienced at the Autobarn Subaru Countryside. Buyers beware if you are looking to buy a car here; I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I only planned on looking at certain cars the day I bought my Suburu Legacy at Autobarn in Countryside. I had a number as to what my trade-in was worth and what the Legacy was worth from looking on the internet. I was not going to stay if those numbers werent really close. What I liked was that I was not treated like I was stupid. The numbers werent what I wanted to start but Mario did not present them as if he were doing me a favor giving me his numbers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER! I saw a vehicle on their website listed for 27,988; went to test drive in the afternoon. Then decided to purchase the vehicle that same evening and they changed their online listed price to 29,988 and claimed that "is was an error in entering the data". They would not even be a reputable dealer and give their original listed price even though it was a "mistake" on their end. I believe this is called the old "Bait & Switch" method of selling vehicles. I dont feel that any dealers should be able to deceive consumers in this way. FYI: They actually did this same thing with several vehicles on their website.

We were cash buyers for a used Lexus, and needless to say we did not buy the car and would never step foot in this dealership again! From the moment we arrived there were salesmen sitting around playing with their phones acting as if their game of "words with friends" was more important than a potential customer. The salesman Patrick took us for a test drive, however we were very distracted by the warning icons flashing on the dash and Patricks cell phone ringing off the hook, trying to drive with a missing shifter knob and oh, the candy wrappers and old receipts littering up the car. Upon returning from our test drive we went into the dealership to "meet the manager" who had the typical used car salesman arrogance. The lobby of this place speaks volumes about the quality of service you will receive there. A 20x20 sitting room with two plastic chairs makes one very uncomfortable.

I just bought a new 2012 Subaru Forester. I had been driving a Honda Civic but it was recently totaled in a rear end collision. I was on my way to Continental Honda in Countryside to buy another Civic when I stopped at Autobarn and test drove a Subaru. I fell in love with it! Noelle was my sales rep and she was wonderful. To top it off, after we had negotiated a price, I came in a few days later (even calling before to make sure the price still stood) to buy the car and when I arrived I was told that another family was interested and I would have to bid for the car if I wanted it.

My side of this story is as follows. I knew the type of automobile I wanted, namely, a small SUV. I took my time. I recommend to try and avoid being in a hurry to buy your next car. I spent three months. I researched various car rating web-sites, including Consumer Reports. I arrived at an amount I would expect to pay for the car, and I knew the ratings and histories of the various makes. I currently had a ten-year old CRV that still runs like new, and very little ever went wrong with it. My new car had to be at least as good as that.

I have visited many dealerships in past few days and the sales representatives were ether rude or extremely manipulative and would not leave me or my mother alone! when we stepped into the Autobarn Subaru in country side two representatives (with one being Noelle) politely said hello and if we needed any help, not to hesitate and ask them any questions we might have. Honestly that was extremely refreshing because they gave us space to check out the cars and decide if we want to get more information about it. After me and my mother picked out few we approached Noelle, she was enthusiastic and so bubbly! we walked over to the cars with her, made a list of which we are interested in, copied VIN numbers and came back inside to see what the prices are and such, from there we chose two that we were mostly interested in one Subaru and another Scion. The cars were brought out to us extremely quickly we had the chance to ride them and get the feel of each car. We did not buy the car right away because we needed a second opinion so we told Noelle thank you and we will be back later. She left the cars outside for us, so when we come back we can see them right away. We ended up purchasing the Scion. The only one drawback was waiting for an incredibly long time until the paperwork was completed, however Noelle kept me entertained so the time went by faster. I have thought for a while about whether or not I would discuss all of my problems with OTHER dealerships before I gave my glowing recommendation of Autobarn Subaru Of Countryside. All I will say is that through my last week of car shopping I have had some really awful experiences. My experience with Autobarn was truely the best car buying experience I have ever had. I contacted every Subaru dealership in Illinois and one in Wisconsin, Autobarn beat the second best price by over $500!. All of my contact was with Melissa, the internet sales manager. She answered all of my questions in a timely manor, and was extremely honest and straight forward. When I went in for a test drive I was in and out of the dealership in 20 minutes. She didnt try the normal "Let me introduce you to my general manager" routine, she just answered my questions and thanked me for coming in. It was at this moment that I decided that if I bought a Subaru, I was buying from this dealership. In the interim we continued to look at other makes of vehicles and were mostly un-impressed with the quality of service we received at other dealerships. We were also quite shocked at how there really are no vehicles that canapples for apples with an Outback when you measure what it offers for the price. I started off my car buying experience by not only researching cars but researching dealerships, and honestly I was sceptical about alot of bad reviews I read, but after my own experiences this week I know the good experience I had with Autobarn is a rare one. This is my first Subaru and if I am as happy with the car ten years from now as I am today I would neveranywhere else for my next Subaru. Autobarn understands how to treat people and I urge anyone interested in a Subaru to make Autobarn their first stop. And one last thing, a local dealership advertises a lifetime warranty on any vehicle purchased from them, it is nothing but a gimmick. I excitedly told the salesperson at this dealership that it was great that I could save alot by being able to forgo the extended warranty since they offered a lifetime warranty and he told me that I still need the extended warranty.... huh? Their lifetime warranty only covers things that will never actually break. To the Ownership/Management of Autobarn Subaru, I know that the quality of employees is a direct representation of the quality of management and their policies. Keep up the good work. And give Melissa a raise!

We started our shopping at the local dealership in town, Gerald Naperville. Spent several hours at the dealership trying to negotiate a fair price with their internet manager. Ended up walking away. Went online that evening only to find that the price we were asking to pay was actually higher than their advertised online price. Needless to say we were not happy. The reason we were given was that the advertised price does not include the $695 "appearance package" that they supposedly put on most of the vehicles. The appearance package was explained to us as door guards and pin stripes (the 80s style stripe stickers). We ended up negotiating a price over the internet with Melissa and paying far under the internet price on Geralds site. Not only did the vehicle cost much less, but it included more options, including a remote start. Melissa made the process so easy and painless. There were no hidden "appearance package" type charges and we were not put through the ringer. She was so professional and pleasant to deal with. We entered the dealership with a pit in our stomach from our experiences the day before and exited as an extremely satisfied customer. Hats off to Melissa.....your the best!

After doing a bit of research in person and online I decided on a Subaru Outback, and in dealing with a small handful of reps decided that the price and value that Autobarn Subaru offered edged it out over the other competitors.

I would like to say thank you to the service folks at this location. Having been told I needed rack and pinion and had the work complete by another mechanic I was told the very next oil change that the head gaskets need to be replaced. Well with 138,000 plus miles on my 04 Forester I felt a second opinion was needed. I purchased my subie at the Subaru of Countryside now known as the Autobarn so that is where I headed. Well after that car was up and I saw the mess of oil and leaking I knew it was a new car sale for me. Scott explained the repairs and let me know the approximate cost so I could consider my options. As I do regular service on the car and had hoped to keep it at least another year to two years I scheduled the work. I am very pleased at the results and expect to have the dealership service the car going forward.

We went in Autobarn Subaru Countryside last week to purchase a car for my son. He knew exactly what he wanted and had been looking for sometime. I cannot express how wonderful Noelle and Damien were to him. They treated him with respect and were very informative. There was no pressure, in fact, we did not come back fro 5 days to purchase the car. They were so great to both my son and me. On top of that, we got a great deal! My son is very very happy. Buying him a car gave me "car fever". I went back a week later to see about a car for me. I live within 1/2 mile from a Naperville Subaru Dealership but drove the 45 minutes to Autobarn Subaru to work with Noelle, Damien and Brian Gilbert again. Once again, they were great. No Pressure. They gave me options and I knew they were really looking out for me. I purchased a 2011 Forester. I am so happy. We are now a Subaru Family (had been a Mitsubishi Family for the last 12 years). I would recommend this dealership very highly. It is worth the drive if you dont live close. The "dreaded" car buying process was non-existent with Autobarn Subaru Countryside.

Scott in the service dept is exceptional. We brought our 2007 outback wagon in to determine if we needed to replace the pistons. Scott and his crew did whatever they could do (without incurring expense) and gave us an opinion on what the car needed. At that point we decided to look at new cars. George, our sales man, was informatitive, knowledgable and not pushy at all with us (which I appreciated!). we test drove both the impreza and forester. Although, we would have loved to purchase the wagon, it was just above our price range. We decided on the forester. Really liked all the changes in the body style etc (not boxy looking anymore)and we asked for the best deal they could give us. We recd 11,000 for the trade in, wanted the rear cargo net abd homelink mirrow, the total price we had to pay was 15,157. We have been loyal subaru customers for at least 25 years. We love these cars and currently own a tribeca and 2006 outback sedan (I wish you still made this car, I love it) and now the forester. We just wont haggle and said give us your best price. I was a bit dissapointed that the mirror wasnt just thrown in - in exchange for the diming compass mirror and surprised that we had to purchase the cargo net - we always recd that before. But, when all was said and done we did purchase the car and do love it. I dont know if the sales guys do not have much room to make the price better or we should have spoke up more. Nevertheless, George was great and we had a good experience with Mo when we were finalizing all the papter work.

Everything about the process was very impressive. I had a good idea of what I wanted before contacting them, but I live downstate, a few hours away. My husband and I went into this dealership in Countryside to test drive a 2011 Forester. We saw the excellent rating for safety that the Forester received in Consumer Reports magazine. We were met by Mario, a salesman, when we walked through the door. Mario was personable, accommodating, and easy to work with. We test drove a couple of different Foresters in different colors, with different price points. We had no intention of buying a car that day. However, the dealership ultimately met our price, which we felt was a good deal. We felt compelled to accept the deal right then and there rather than shop around with other dealerships. At the auto show, we received a coupon for a $250 manufacturers rebate. We applied the coupon once we were done negotiating.

This was my first Subaru after owning 2 Hondas and 1 Toyota. Melissa was great to work with, in person, thru email or phone. When customizing the car, Melissa offered the option of ordering the car which would negate the installation cost, on top of the discount price given. I ordered the Forester without having a second thought. When it came to finance the car, Brian did something no other financier had done, offered to negotiate the price of the extended warranty. Overall, with the discounted price shown on the website and great service by Melissa and Brian, no other dealership has come close, not even Honda or Toyota or other Subaru dealerships. When I asked a slaseman to get the saleswoman that we spoke to before he was more than happy toand get her not like some at other deaerships where that person would try to get you to buy from them. Our saleswoman was very friendly, she kept asking if we wanted or needed anything, water, juice, coffee, etc. All through the process of us buying our new Forester she was very thoughtfull and concerned about my wife and myself. After we decieded to but the 2011 Forester and had to wait for the finance person, she would come and advise us as to how long it would be before we saw him. Once we got to the finance man he was also so very nice, explaining everything to us and giving us all our options. I just hope, if and when we have to bring the Forester in for warranty work that the Service Department will be as nice as the Sales department.

After owning several Dodge Caravans, I bought my first Subaru from the Autobarn in Countryside. I needed to downsize from the Caravan, and had seen the Outback at the Auto show. Initially, I came in to the Autobarn to see how easy it would be for my 90 year old mother to get in and out of an Outback. Noelle helped us out - no pressure, just come in and try it out. I came again for a test drive, which Noelle had suggested. Again, no pressure. Noelle just wanted to know what I was looking for and checked to see whether they had what I wanted. She called the next day to let me know that the Outback I was looking for was in their incoming inventory. I returned with my mother and again made sure she could get in and out of the Outback easily. Later that day, I came back and bought the vehicle. It was a very, very pleasant experience.

I have actually seen salespeople let a customer call other dealers from their site to verify they are getting the best deal possible. We were impressed by their pricing so we called Melissa the Internet Manager and made a last minute decision to test drive a car. When we got to the dealership we asked for Melissa. She came out to greet us, was very friendly and asked if we were familar with the new Outback. We told here no and she took us around the corner to show us the model on display. Melissa knows the vehicle and answered all our questions. After the test drive I told Melissa that if the numbers were right we would buy the car. She presented us with a great price, no hassles, no games. It was near closing on saturday and we had a 16 month old with us who was starting to fuss. Melissa and everyone there did their best to make the purchase quick and smooth. The financing went smooth and the sales pitch for the extended warranty was not high pressure and the presentation was 5 minutes, not 40 as I have read elsewhere. Again, everyone was trying to be quick, considerate of the fact that we had a fussy baby while at the same time making sure everything was correct. I would defintely purchase another car from this dealer and melissa.

Paul is the universes gift to the car shopping world. As a dealer he was on the money and helpful. Paul gave us an extremely competitive price (beating another dealers "lowest possible" price) and had just about all the paperwork done from our phone calls alone. My wife was happy and when shes happy, then damn it, my life is easy. The financing went well, very quickly for that matter, except for one thing and that was the HARD push for the warranty explanation and sales pitch. This is my 3rd Subaru. Im freakin almost 40and when I say Im not interested what I really mean is dont freakin lecture me about how this is federal law and you HAVE to explain every last detail. Thats 40 minutes of my life I will never get back. There should be a poster or sign saying somewhere that there is a federal requirement to explain the warranties being sold and that it may take 30-40 minutes. I spoke with other dealerships and many of my friends who work at various dealerships (non-subaru) and I was told there is no requirement.

The price was as quoted (and below invoice) and they gave us a fair price on our trade-in. No real pressure to buy anything else, although all the extra warranties, etc. were offered. We did have a mechanical problem a few hours after purchasing the car but Darrell, the GM, was very helpful in working out the issue and even went to bat with the regional Subaru rep to resolve the problem. I highly recommend Paul, Darrell and The Autobarn Subaru for a purchase.

Ryan being new to the business was very professional, courteous and polite. I believe this gentleman wouldup the ladder without sacrificing his integrity. If the vehicle of my preference pops up on this dealership. Im willing to drive 50 miles to deal with Ryan.
